Glen Oaks is this amazing hotel and cabin situation in Big Sur, California. About 40 minutes south of Carmel and Monterey, Glen Oaks is in the heart of Big Sur. Tucked into a redwood grove just off of Highway One, the famous highway running along the coast of California and through the Redwoods, Glen Oaks is the perfect spot for an elopement.

Just south of Carmel, Glen Oaks is the perfect spot for an elopement. With various hotels and lodgings nestled in this amazing grove of Redwoods you have plenty of options to chose from for a cute spot to stay during your elopement. Did I mention Glen Oaks has these awesome fire pits in front of some of the lodges? What is better after your elopement than to cuddle next to the fire? Maybe dipping in the river?

Yep, there is even river. Erin and Matt decided to elope, just them two, right on the banks of this awesome creek running through the property. Redwoods, creeks, fern walls. How does this Big Sur elopement get any better?

One of my favorite features of Glen Oaks Big Sur is the fact that the Big Sur River runs through it! Only a few locations in Big Sur offer you this and most do not have access to the riverfront like this. Next to the river is this amazing fern cliff. It creates this amazing atmosphere that only can be achieved in Big Sur.

After grabbing these amazing photos on the property we headed down to the beach. This beach has to be my most favorite beaches in Big Sur. Pfeiffer Beach is about a 5-10 minute drive from Glen Oaks. Another reason this venue is perfect for your wedding or elopement. There are tons of great venues in Big Sur, seriously so many good ones. But, not many are this close to easy beach access!

Pfeiffer Beach is an iconic beach in Big Sur that is just a quick drive from Glen Oaks. This beach offers an amazing key that everyone has come across in the exploration of Big Sur weddings.

Some tips!

Keep in mind when planning on including Pfeiffer Beach in your wedding photos day to plan an extra 10-15 minutes to get there from Glen Oaks. The drive there includes a bumpy downhill drive to the beach entrance. And parking is about $10. I love knowing every factor that can be included on the wedding day. The more info the better! Besides this $10 parking fee, know that in the summertime you can possibly have to wait for parking as it is a popular location. Another good piece of info to know: they have bathrooms!

One of my favorite props to being to elopements is champagne. 🥂I find it such a fun way to elevate the moment and continue making this day even more memorable. Sipping Champagne along the Big Sur coast post elopement is like a life moment never to forget I think. Just add dolphins splashing in the waves and you have an afternoon pretty impossible to ever top. And that is exactly what happened.

As we were taking this photo dolphins were spotted just off Pfeiffer Beach. It was crazy. Such a fun way to end the evening with Matt and Erin in Big Sur.
