This property is amazing

Overlooking the wave of Big Sur sits this amazing multi-level oasis. Amazing rooms that overlook the Pacific Ocean, breathtaking architecture that makes you feel like something epic is about to happen. The foliage around the property with amazing redwoods reminds you constantly you are in Big Sur. I love that feeling. When you are stoked and you feel good, your photos will come out that much better.

One of the best views of Big Sur

Carmel Highlands is this portal to Big Sur. As you come in you are transported to a new dimension. If you have been to Big Sur you know what I mean. The views quickly change from amazing properties and vineyards to cliffs with crashing waves. Hyatt Carmel Highlands is situated so that all day long Big Sur is your backdrop. One of the benefits of being so close to Big Sur is some of my favorite locations for photos are literally a 4 minutes drive from Hyatt Carmel Highlands. This means we have more time for photos of you and your new partner with amazing Big Sur backdrops.

The Deck is stunning

I remember the first time I visited Hyatt Carmel Highlands. A few years ago I was driving to Big Sur with my mentor who suggested we stopped by to see the deck. *more to come soon. As a wedding photographer, I thought it was the coolest location for a ceremony and I was right. The deck overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs of Carmel and Big Sur. I think it would be so epic to tie the Knot here.

The Teams is Amazing

We have talked about how beautiful of a location Hyatt Carmel Highlands is. Can I talk about how great the team is here? Super friendly, welcoming, and most of all they know exactly how to take care of you on your wedding day and are excellent at making your event run smoothly and with class. Anticipating every aspect of your day, the Team at Hyatt Carmel Highlands is my preferred wedding team day of. This is huge. When you hire various wedding pros for your wedding day it important to know that they put you first, together, and this is what happens at Hyatt Carmel Highlands.

Make it easy for your guests

Planning a memorable and comfortable time for your guests is high up on your list. It won’t be hard to convince your wedding guests to stay at Hyatt Carmel Highlands for your wedding. What is better for Aunt Marge than to visit California and stay at the location of the wedding and love every second of it! Forget hunting for a bunch of hotels you think people will be happy to stay at, Hyatt Carmel Highlands is the perfect location for your celebrants.

The Reception space

Planning a full amazing wedding day was just made so simple. Ceremony at the Deck, couple’s photos at the Cliff, and then reception in one of the various reception halls on-site as the sun sets, I honestly am not sure if there is a better set up. One of my favorite aspects of having your reception on-site is the fact that for the rest of the evening as the sun sets, you get to watch this amazing view through the giant windows surrounding the reception.

The Fire Pits

Okay, this is probably like, “what?”, but hear me out. Spread out all around the property are these super cool fire pits. Sunsets and bonfires are like quintessential California. Having grown up here there is something in our DNA that just makes this a necessity. The fact that you get to have your own bonfire as you watch the sunset, sip some wine, and talk about your new lives together, makes me stoked for you that you get to do this. If I were you, would totally make this an entire adventure, and make sure to stay a few days early to spend time around one of these with just you two or even your close friends. Sounds like a monumental moment.

The Catering

The Food. Let’s be real. The catering is bomb. Do people even use that word anymore? It’s awesome. How about that. The Restaurant on the property at Hyatt Carmel Highlands, California Market at Pacific’s Edge, is so good! So much that Jessica and I, when we can get a babysitter, usually will get a hike in Big Sur in as our date and make sure to get breakfast here. If you visit California Market at Pacific’s Edge be sure to ask for the window seat or even better, the corner window. You feel like you are floating over the Water and it is totally an experience. Sunset is an amazing experience here.

Love Wine Tasting?

If you have been around here often, you know how much I love wines. It is one of the reasons the Central coast is so attractive to us. With Carmel-by-the-Sea, only a 5-minute drive away you have access to some of California’s best winemakers and wineries. Something I recommend, get a room overlooking the water, grab a few bottles downtown, and then take them back to your room to enjoy as husband and wife while the sun sets. Bam, something you can only do somewhere like Hyatt Carmel Highlands.
