Big Sur Maternity Session

Big Sur

Seriously one of my favorite places to be in the world is Big Sur.

When Jessica and I were on our honeymoon (Lake Tahoe) we decided to cut our time there short by a day and take the epic drive down Highway 1. We were born and raised Californians and had never been to Big Sur. (I’ve never been to Yosemite too :()

That Glow

So we hit the road and of course, in Californian fashion, it takes us like twice as long as Google Maps says it will. But we loved every moment. The crashing waves on the rocks, the death defying switchbacks, and finally that sunset. Literally you’re on the edge of the continent looking out towards endless ocean as the glow begins to set in.

Little did we know, a few months after that epic start to our new life, we would be able to move here!

Yeah, this is a maternity blog on a recent maternity session. But it struck a chord in me as I was editing. One of the things I love about photography, specifically wedding photography, is I get to help people remember that glow. And this amazing couple, flying all the way from Texas, found it!
