Amphitheatre of the Redwoods is an amazing wedding venue nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains just north of Monterey on the gorgeous Central Coast of California. Resting on over 100 acres of Redwood forest, Amphitheater of the Redwoods is a destination wedding venue seekers paradise. As I drove up the mountain road from the sea I had to pull over to just take in the scenery (and enjoy my coffee from Captain Stoker, a coffee shop here in Monterey. The leaves and fresh air, even being so close to the San Jose and Silicon Valley craziness, ws so refreshing to my spirit and was absolutely inspiring. If you are from the Bay Area you probably wouldn’t believe it but so close there IS a place to really get away from it all.

You have your choice of dozens of wedding ceremony or reception locations on the venue’a property. From airy and warm open grassy fields, or the famous Redwood Deck engulfed in those awesome giant Redwoods, or even Orchards outside the guest house, to forests, and yes even a banquet hall to dance the night away in rain or shine! I am assuming you could even, hold an epic multi day wedding with different c ceremonies at different locations! Seriously really cool.

Adding to its uniqueness, Amphitheatre of the Redwoods is a wedding venue attached to Pema Osal Ling, a venue operated by the Vajrayana Foundation, a non-profit organization promoting Tibetan Buddhist values.

Only 45 minutes south from San Francisco, Amphitheatre of the Redwoods is the ideal wedding and elopement venue. Very a few wedding venues in the South Bay/ Monterey, even Big Sur, have the secluded feel that Amphitheatre provides. Not only does Amphitheatre provide the ultimate in romantic and intimate spaces but you can even rent the property to spend the weekend! Imagine, get your whole family out to party and they get to stay on location in the guest house! On the venue’s property you will also find many locations to camp and even a separate home to party it up in! So when your whole family comes to visit and watch you tie the knot they can do so in comfort!

One of my favorite aspects of this venue is the Redwood Deck. It is such a unique space that is hard to fine anywhere in California. Surrounded by Redwoods as you tie the knot is such a romantic and adventurous way to do it!

We decided to decorate the deck with a May Pole as the theme of this session was an adventurous Spring wedding. We thought it worked perfect with the deck!\
