Why We Only Give Our Best
OR “Why We Only Provide the Edited Images of Your Wedding Day”
Let me explain why!
Culling
I love beautiful things. Post wedding day I spend a few hours simply culling photos. This is where I go through and hand select the very best photos to include in your online album. I do this for many reasons. First, I am determined to deliver the very best to my clients. I want my clients to leave after viewing their album feeling the emotions I captured on the wedding day! Second, I have the equipment determine which photos are in focus or are perfect for show so that if one was to in the future decide they wanted a larger print it would look beautiful mounted on a wall, in a frame, or on a billboard!
*Side note: Many people do not know this, but viewing images on a screen is much different from in printed form. An Apple screen from 2020 is going to look different from an Apple screen from 2018. An HP or Microsoft is also going to display images different from all others and that not even going into every type of phone out there. I edit on a machine that is calibrated so that the prints are exactly what I want you to see in real life.
Now, you might be thinking, “but I heard so many clicks during the day, I would love to see the in between”. This takes me to my next point…
Style
I view photography as an art. Not only am I capturing the day but I am doing so through an artistic lens. Think of a painter. They might try a few types of colors before selecting the one they believe to be the absolute best one to represent their view or the mood of the scene. It is true what you hear. I can take twice, sometimes, three times as many photos that are presented to the client. But, all those clicks one hears is my trying out the different paints. I want to deliver something truly beautiful to my clients and the one shot I took right before that one amazing one just doesn’t make that cut. These photos were never intended to be the final product.
My Brand
I saved this part for last because bottom line, what you, and what you should care about most, is your amazing wedding photos. But, I am going to be real with you for a second. Photography is not only my passion, my art, and the way I see the world, but it is also my brand and people talk. Which I love. I want them to! I want my photos shared and re-shared, and uploaded to Instagram, and Facebook, and Time Magazine and with that I want the world to see my best work! As these images are shared my brand is attached to it. I depend on “talk” to keep taking more photos! And as far as I depend on this I want all the talk to be “great talk”. I want friends of clients to see your photos and go, “wow, you guys look BEAUTIFUL”.
