I’ve been a part of a fair number of surprise engagements, but a surprise wedding was a first! Steve booked a getaway for his soon-to-be bride and a few close friends in Carmel, which, to Matina’s surprise, was actually a wedding! This was such a rad idea!

Heading to Carmel-by-the-Sea for an Elopement
The day before the wedding Steve had me meet them at Carmel Beach for a friends and puppy session! Matina knew about this session so it was no surprise when they met me at the beach for the session. It was such a fun time as we walked the beach, let the dogs run, and talked Pebble Beach and “why they’d decided to come out to Carmel” :)
The day of the elopement a few friends and family members made it out to celebrate this new union. It was such a special time and such a cool place to do it! The elopement was held at a private home in Carmel-by-the-Sea and if you are interested in doing something similar check out Airbnb for some current listings.
After the elopement, Steve and Matine and friends walked up to Cypress Inn, this amazing hotel and restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea. It was once owned by Dorris Day. Here, even more friends surprised Matina and added to the party! You know when people act surprised but you can tell they had an idea, yeah this wasn’t that, she had no idea! It was so cool I couldn't help but smile. Come on, surprise elopement, and then surprise party right after! What an epic time.
